Falls Coming

September 30, 2010
Posted by Matthew King

It’s rained all day today, about three to four inches, wind blowing and the leaves are falling. That sure feels like falls coming now. Well it’s time to start to think about getting ready for winter. AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer reduces the oxidation process and prevents varish and gum build-up in gasoline.

These contaminants can clog injectors, stick floats and cause poor engine performance. Treatment rate is one ounce with every 2.5 gallons of fuel. One 16 ounce bottle treats 40 gallons total. Gasoline starts to break-down after about a month, so if you leave gas in your mower through the winter, think about what it’s doing. Scrary thought.

Synthetic XL

AMSOIL XL Synthetic Motor Oils provide peace of mind. The oil drain interval recommendations for many of today’s vehicles extend well beyond the traditional 3,000-mile interval, some up to 12,000 miles with electronic oil monitoring systems.

Unlike other oils that have 3,000-mile maximum recommendations, AMSOIL Synthetic XL Motor Oils provide 7,500-mile/six-month drain intervals or longer where stated by vehicle manufacturers or indicated by oil life monitoring systems. When using AMSOIL XL Synthetic Motor Oils, protection and performance are not sacrificed with longer drain intervals.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

September 26, 2010

The 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally took place August 9-15, drawing an estimated 750,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and potential AMSOIL customers to the Black Hills in Sturgis, S.D. for the week-long event. With AMSOIL in its third year as the Official Oil of the world famous rally, the company’s visibility was larger than ever.

A large AMSOIL banner once again greeted visitors as they entered town on Junction Avenue, and with 90 AMSOIL signs gracing the many barricades located throughout the downtown area, the AMSOIL logo was impossible to miss. There was also a great display of AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil and products.

Warrantys

September 23, 2010

At a meeting with another dealer the other day, he’s telling me about a customer who has a riding lawn mower that he changed over to AMSOIL Synthetic Small Engine Oil, and that 2 hours after changing the oil, the motor broke down. He said it was smoking and knocking. He believed that the oil caused this. After talking to his dealer, they decided to do an oil analysis. AMSOIL needs this when there is a warranty claim.

The oil analysis came back looking good, but the amount of fuel in the oil was at a critical level, it was at 3.96. Almost 4% of fuel in the oil in 2 hours; this isn’t an oil problem, this is a fuel problem. AMSOIL doesn’t walk away when there is a problem – they confront it and take care of it. This is what the company is like to work with, so keep this in mind when you buy any AMSOIL products. You have your dealer and a great company to back you when there’s a problem.

Early Synthetic Diesel Oils

September 21, 2010

In 1975, AMSOIL came out with their Synthetic Diesel Oil, and through the years, they have improved their oil to keep up with the demands of the new Diesels coming out. Now we have stricter emissions requirements, and AMSOIL came out with their emission -quality diesel oil.

AMSOIL Synthetic 5w-40 Diesel Oil exceeds emission system requirements and is compatible with all exhaust treatment devices. It controls soot-thickening and engine wear, maximizes fuel economy and reduces oil consumption. AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oils have a low coefficient of friction that improves fuel economy by reducing the loss of power to friction. In fact, AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oils can increase fuel efficiency up to three percent.

Perferred Pricing

September 19, 2010

Some people might be put off by AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oils prices. I was talking to a potential customer on Friday, and he owns a 2009 Freightliner in which he just had the oil changed . The oil change he had done cost him $275.00, and he does this every two months. That’s six oil changes a year! I asked him how would he like to cut it down to a half, or more. Needless to say he wanted to know more.

The price of AMSOIL products is more, but you use them less, and you have less wear. Everybody can get wholesale pricing, all you have to do sign up as a Preferred Customer (through my website); it’s $20.00 a year to do this. You can buy 1quart or a truck load, it doesn’t matter. So do yourself a favor and sign up and get Preferred Pricing and start saving money.

Higher TBN

September 19, 2010
Posted by Matthew King

TBN: is the Total Base Number of an oil. The total base number (TBN) is a indicator of an oils ability to neutralize such contaminants. An oil with a higher TBN number can neutralize a greater amount of acidic material. So an oil with a higher TBN number has a lower potential for corrosion concerns and a longer anticipated useful service life.

AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oil has a higher TBN number then many oils on the market, Shell, Castrol, Mobil and more, all have a lower TBN number then AMSOIL. So when its time to change your oil, go with the company that has built a better oil. AMSOIL

Smokeless

September 15, 2010

AMSOIL Saber 2-Cycle Oil is a 100:1 mix, but will work in anything that requires more oil, except marine,( they have a 100:1 mix for marine too.) Instead of having smokey 2-cycle equipment, use this – it’s smokeless. Another nice quality of this oil is less wear, plug fouling prevention, less ring sticking and less exhaust port blocking.

AMSOIL did a test at a logging camp using six brand new Stil chainsaws. Three used Stil oil and three used AMSOIL Saber 100:1 mix. At the end of 200 hours, they were torn down and checked for wear. The AMSOIL saws had less wear and fuel use, and no smoke. What a deal – less wear and no smoke, better for the environment.

Forgotten Fluid

September 13, 2010

How many people remember to change there Power Steering Fluid? Very few. I came across AMSOIL Power Steering Fluid in my reading of their literature. I’ve talked to other dealers, asked if they ever used it, and none of them have. So I did, and was very impressed with it. It made steering easier, quieter and smoother.

Nothing special to do: suck out all you can from the power steering reservoir, pour in a bottle of power steering fluid, run it for a few minutes while turning the steering wheel back and forth a couple of times. Then suck out the reservoir again, refilling it for the last time. That’s it! Now this process works great, as long as the power steering system is in good working order. So give it a try, and enjoy the thought of smoother steering , less drag on the engine and longer power steering life. You’ll need 2 bottles to do most cars and trucks.
