Reduce Friction

If we can minimize contact between components, we will minimize friction as well as wear. The inherent lubricity of an oil along with the oil’s viscosity are the key characteristics in minimizing contact between components. Friction modifiers can improve the lubricity of an oil by further minimizing frictional drag.

Base oils possess a varying degree of solvency, which assists in maintaining internal cleanliness. However, detergents/dispersants play the key roll. They maintain internal cleanliness by suspending contaminants, minimizing contaminant agglomeration and preventing the adhesion of contaminants to components. As degradation of the oil itself can result in a cleanliness issue, oxidation inhibitors can reduce its effect. AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil will reduce the friction as well as wear.
